Primary PE and Sport Premium
How we are using the money
The Sport Premium is an additional amount of money given to schools in addition to their main budget. Every school receives a fixed amount of money for each pupil. The money is provided to schools so that we can improve the provision of PE and sport and to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles.
The purpose of the PE and Sport Premium grant is for schools to make additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport for the benefit of all primary aged pupils to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles.
We must report to you the level of Primary PE and Sport Premium, how we have used it and what difference it has made. This year, the school will receive £19,580 in Sport Premium.
We are planning to spend the money in the following ways:
- Engage all pupils in regular physical activity - the Chief Medical Officer guidelines recommend that all children and young people aged 5 to 18 engage in at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day, of which 30 minutes should be in school
- Raise the profile of PE and sport across the school as a tool for whole-school improvement
- Increase confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
- Provide broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils
- Increased participation in competitive sport
Here is how we spent the money in 2023-2024 and what we plan for 2024-2025
