Curriculum Booklet
At Tanners Brook Primary School, we are dedicated to providing every child with a high quality curriculum that empowers everyone to strive for their personal best to make the community proud. We ensure our curriculum is enriched with opportunities to bring learning to life, demonstrates the diversity of our community and encourages all our children to become lifelong learners.
The National Curriculum provides exciting opportunities for staff at Tanners Brook to engage and inspire our children to be the best they can be; to develop a sense of excitement and curiosity about the world around them and to equip them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, investigate, invent, create and imagine. We believe our curriculum enables our children to develop their skills over time, building on their learning and embedding the core key skills and knowledge required to support them as they move into Key Stage Three.
Throughout our curriculum, we endeavour to provide our children with memorable experiences that immerse them in their learning, leading to memorable outcomes. Lessons are approached by our highly trained teachers using a range of teaching methods and we always aim to challenge, inspire and motivate our children to help deepen their understanding of the world. Creativity and curiosity are promoted so the design and structure of our lessons is flexible to suit the needs of our children.
Together, as staff and children, our curriculum is ever evolving to ensure that we match the needs and interests of our children and use the strengths and skills of our staff. We are committed to providing a curriculum that reflects the world we live in, starting with our community, so continuously update and amend our plans to be able to fulfil this. Our children are at the heart of all we do and to encourage their love of learning, we focus on building the skills of determination and resilience to ensure every child is reaching their potential. In turn, this builds a sense of pride when individuals reach and excel their personal best.
